I have bought some, and they do come with some marks, but I would assume that is from the shipping, because I have also bought them in the store, and they are like new. The mark that they are talking about is done with a permanent marker, and is either a line drawn across the bar code on the back, or a line across the pages on the bottom (done when the book was closed, so you don't see it unless you flip the book upside down), or else it's a dot on the page fronts that you see when the book is closed. They are not noticeable, and are definitely worth it.
